Launch
A new year and a new page. We turned the hull of my C19
on the 1st of January 2007,
hopefully I will be fishing out of her boat this time next year.

Turning the hull turned out to be fairly stress
free, invite a bunch of friends down home under the pretence
of a New Years day party, put on few beers and many hands make light work. All
we had to do was lift her off
the jig, take her outside, spin her around, bring her back into the shed, turn
her the right side up and put the
trailer under...easy.
Beginning of the Interior.
After turning the hull it took me a while to get
back to the boat due to the knee reconstruction and the heat.
The first job was to glass the interior of the hull, sounds easy but this was
the most difficult job to date.
This was due to the fact that is was so hot and once you started a roll of tape
or a sheet you could not stop.

Install Stringers, Sheer Clamp & Bulkheads.
Installing the stringers was quite easy, I just
put all the bulkheads back in and they held the stringers in place while I glued them in.
I inserted two paddle pop sticks between the stringers and the hull to ensure
there were no hard spots. Up near the bow I
ended up with a gap under the stringers in a few places of 5 to 6mm, just filled
it up with glue, no hard spots there.
After a post on the website I decided to install a sheer clamp. I cut the timber
for it out of the old jig wood and then bent it to fit.

Various Internals
August 07
Lots of time spent gluing, filleting and
glassing stringers and bulkheads.
Resin coated all the floor panels, got the gunnels on and build my consol.

First Trip to Town -
20-08-07
This was quite a mementos occasion, I had to
get the boat to town to weigh it and to get the guy doing the steel work to
measure a few things up. Started badly, this is a big boat, I had to pull two
fence posts and a heap of wire out to get her
out of the shed. Also the front bow roller on the trailer rubbed through the
paint so I am going to get a bit of stainless put
on to prevent that happening again. Anyway we got to town and back with out any
incident.

Bow Sprit
I was concerned about a few friends that are
not all that careful with the anchor so decided to extend the bow
to get the anchor away from the hull. Now that it is on it looks pretty good and
will hopefully save a few dings to the hull.

More Internals
20-12-07
Although it took a lot of work I added wood the to bottom of the
casting deck so water would drain away rather than
go into the area under the casting deck. It made the deck very solid.

The outside of the boat is completely finished, all that
needs to be done is glass the floor, fit the fuel hatch,
paint and fit and wire the motor and electronics.
